What a day

A couple of weeks ago we actually had a Saturday morning when we did not have any plans or major work to do.
So, we got out and made a Lowe's run for some things we need for the yard. Since it was so nice outside we stopped by the park on the way home and let the kids play. Brothers Pond Park is right down the street from our house, and the kids love playing there. It has fun playgrounds for the kids and cool wooded walking trails, as well as a pond where the kids love to go feed the ducks. We were even able to make a run to the library before heading home. And- yes- Sam somehow managed to find a Buzz Lightyear book there within only a matter of minutes.
The day shifted gears when we heard from my mom that my dad (who was still in the hospital at the time) had contracted pnuemonia and was not feeling good at all. So, we packed up real quick and headed to Waco to see daddy. He was feeling alot better when we got there, since they had loaded him up on antibiotics and pain killers! I'm glad we had went because it was good just to be with everybody again. Dad was even able to go home that following Tuesday!
In just one more twist to the day, Matt got a call from Chris that evening saying that there had been a huge hail storm at home and that the grounds was covered so that it looked like it had snowed. Our main concern was that we had forgotten to pull Matt's Blazer up in the garage so it was "vulnerable to the elements". When we got home on Sunday, we could see that the truck was pretty dinged up and that there were little parts of our roof all around the house. But, we've got insurnace for the roof and the truck can be fixed eventually.
