Manic Monday...Part II
Well, we did have a quiet spell right around the middle of the day. But it ended pretty quick. It began to rain lightly outside so the kids had to stay inside for the rest of the afternoon (yikes).
There were a few screaming matches between the kids that had to be broke up. The venue looked like this :
1)Maddy vs Amelia - cause of fight - issues over Barbie pony
2) Luke vs Sam - cause of fight - apparently my fault because there are "not enough Lego's to share"
3) Olivia vs Christmas tree - cause of fight - she wanted to touch it so badly but knew she couldn't, so she just stood near it and yelled in her little gibberish talk
4) Sam vs Christmas tree - cause of fight - he got mad because I turned a movie off, so he decided it was a good idea to start hitting the tree with a ruler (this soon turned into a Mommy vs Sam bout)
We made it throught the afternoon, somehow and I thought it would be a great idea to get a friend to watch the kids while Matt and I got out for a couple of hours to do some Christmas shopping. We met at Barnes and Nobles, but I could see it was going downhill from there. Matt had the beginnings of a pretty bad cold, so it was kind of like walking around with a zombie. So, we cut the date short, got the kids and headed home.
I was doing good and had everyone in bed by 8:00!!! I was too tired to head to the gym, so I got in the bad and began working on our tree skirt which I am repairing this year. And then I realized that having the kids in bed does not necessarily mean that they are going to sleep. An hour later, after the kids had made 10 trips each to the bathroom for drinks of water or to go potty, and several trips to their rooms from us for "warnings" to get to sleep - they were all finally asleep...for a while. And then the fun began.
Here is a rough timeline of how the night went - and remember, Matt is sick so I am letting hime sleep tonight:
11:00 - I couldn't sleep so I got on the couch for about an hour and the headed to bed around midnight
12:15 - Maddy wakes up because she is coughing, cries because she wants in bed with me, finally got her back in her bed alseep by 12:40
1:20 - Sam wakes up with his legs hurting, he gets growing pains alot. I give him some medicine and he goes straight back to bed
1:45 - Maddy coughing again - same as firs time - back in bed by 2:00
2:45 - Sam wakes me up because he has wet his bed (which is pretty fascinating because he is wearing a pull up), but I guess those 10 trips to the bathroom were more for drinks than potty. Sam and his bed are changed by 3:00 and we're back in bed
3:50 - Maddy's turn - she has wet her bed. Changed her and her sheets, back in bed by 4:00 (i'm getting quicker)
***** Here is the most fascinating part ***
4:45 - Luke wakes me up - HE has wet the bed. Yes, that's right - Luke, the child who has ony wet the bed a total of about 2 times in his entire life has wet the bed tonight. Get him changed and back in the bed by 5.
This night was a record for me - I had never had all three wet the bed in one night before - wow!
And then I SLEPT until the alarm went of at 7:30.
But, the funy thing is that today has been quiet and nice and wonderful!!! so far...
