Lists

| | Comments (0)

I am a list maker. I have found (especially since I have had the kids and lost about half of my brain cells) that I cannot do much without having a list in front of me.
I have lists for meals I will prepare, what I need at the grocery store and what I need to get done that day. I knew that that I was really bad when I found myself making lists and would write down things I had already finished just so I could mark them off my list - how sad am I?!
Here is just a glimpse of my partial "To Do List" before we head to Waco tomorrow:
1. Finish laundry and pack (this one task could take two days itself)
2. Get house clean
3. Give Luke and Sam haircuts
4. Send some cards out
5. Cook/Bake for Thursday
5. Clean inside of truck out

May Cause Drowsiness

The kids have all had little colds this week. Apparently the cold medicine I picked up for them at the store is not non-drowsy. Maddy fell fast asleep at the dinner table last night.

Incredible Time

Matt and I took the kids to see The Incredibles last night with Chris and Kathy. We have been awaiting this movie since we saw the trailer over a year ago when Finding Nemo came out. We all had a GREAT time. Sam ate his weight in popcorn, Maddy kept her ears plugged with her fingers for most of the beginning, and Luke was on the edge of his chair! The movie was even better than I expected and the kids all sat through the whole thing. Luke has already been asking me today when it comes out on DVD!

Manic Monday...Part II

Well, we did have a quiet spell right around the middle of the day. But it ended pretty quick. It began to rain lightly outside so the kids had to stay inside for the rest of the afternoon (yikes).
There were a few screaming matches between the kids that had to be broke up. The venue looked like this :
1)Maddy vs Amelia - cause of fight - issues over Barbie pony
2) Luke vs Sam - cause of fight - apparently my fault because there are "not enough Lego's to share"
3) Olivia vs Christmas tree - cause of fight - she wanted to touch it so badly but knew she couldn't, so she just stood near it and yelled in her little gibberish talk
4) Sam vs Christmas tree - cause of fight - he got mad because I turned a movie off, so he decided it was a good idea to start hitting the tree with a ruler (this soon turned into a Mommy vs Sam bout)

Manic Monday

I'm not sure if it is the weather, or what, but I somehow believe that is the children's intentional purpose today to actually drive me insane.
Here's just a smattering of phrases that I have spoken (pretty much to deaf ears) that sum it up...
"Olivia, no touching the Christmas tree. No, no, Olivia. No touching, look with your eyes. No, no. No, no. No, no. No, no. Olivia, no no. No, no."
"Amelia, we don't pull down our pants and tinkle outside. That is how your pants got all wet."
"Samuel, we don't tear the screen and throw toys out the window."
"Maddy, please don't lick juice off the floor. Wipe it up with a towel."
"No, Luke, you can't play on the computer right now." (repeated every 5 minutes for the last 2 hours)

An Evening with Lyle

Matthew and I had the incredible opportunity last night to get to see Lyle Lovett in concert at Rudder Auditorium on the campus of Texas A&M. Lyle's concert was in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Association of Former Students here at A&M.

Busy weekend

We had a very busy and productive weekend. On Friday night our house was busting at the seams . I babysat for some girls in the co-op, I will do "mass babyistting" like that if I am running low on coupons! We had ten kids here at the house, including our three. It was a nice evening, so I was able to let them play outside most of the time. Sean came by to visit Matt, but needless to say - he did not stay long.

Playing at the Park

The kids and I went to Sandstone Park in College Station with some of the girls in our babysitting co-op on Friday morning. It was a picture perfect day. Luke, Sam and Maddy had fun playing with their friends and were not ready to go - even after we had been there for two hours!

Beautiful Day

We have really been enjoying the wonderful, cool weather we have had this week. It could not have come at a better time for us, either beacuse our air conditioner went out last weekend. The kids have been playing outside without getting bit by mosquitoes and I was able to do some work in the yard yesterday without breaking a sweat!
We are getting out this morning to run some errands and go play at the park for a while. Hopefully the weather will stay this nice so we can finish up with painting the house this weekend - I am ready to wrap that project up!
